Uses

Proven effective against cancer of many types; melanoma, carcinoma, lymphoma, leukemia, and ovarian carcinoma. The leaves are applied topically on various skin cancers. This agent tones our gastro intestinal system, aiding dyspepsia, ulcers, acid reflux, gastritis, indigestion troubles, and works restores beneficial intestinal flora, while inhibiting unwanted bacteria. Can soothe and benefit colic. Known to detoxify our; kidneys, blood, stomach, and skin. Very beneficial for supporting exhausted adrenals, detoxifying them and supporting their function. It is an emmenagogue (bringing on menses) and hormone balancing to the menopausal women.

Contra-Indications

Avoid use with cancers that are estrogen-positive. Studies in mice found that it inhibited implantation of fertilized eggs, so Espinheiria santa may have contraceptive properties. It has also been employed as such, traditionally through-out South America
